Getting Started
Here's how to go from a Novice in Prontera to a Trainer with your first Pokémon.
1. Become a Pokémon Trainer
Reach Job Level 10 as a Novice, then talk to the Job Changer in Prontera. Among the job choices you'll see two mysterious ??? options — the pink one is Pokémon Trainer.
Only Pokémon Trainers can use the Pokémon World's NPCs and enter through its portal.
2. Enter the Pokémon World
Step into the Pokémon World Portal in north Prontera. It takes you to Pallet Town.
3. Meet Professor Oak
Head into the Pokémon Lab and talk to Professor Oak. Inside his three Poké Balls are the classic starters — choose one:
Bulbasaur
Charmander
Squirtle
4. Your rival appears
Right after you receive your starter, your rival Blue challenges you to your first battle. Losing this first fight costs nothing — Professor Oak patches you up.
After that first battle, losing a trainer battle costs 1,000 zeny, so keep your team healthy.
Good to know
- You can carry 6 Pokémon; the rest go to your PC storage.
- Ragnarok cards can't be slotted into Pokémon World equipment.
- Trainers and regular adventurers can't mail each other, and some items can only be stored in Pokémon World storage.
