Shops & Vending — Ragnarok Online

Ragnarok World

Shops & Vending

Selling and buying between players happens through shops. You can run a normal shop while you stand next to it, or hire a Store Assistant that keeps your shop open for 24 hours while you go on playing.

Where you can open a shop

  • In town: Morroc and Payon are the market towns. Prontera and most other towns don't allow shops.
  • Not within 3 cells of an NPC, and not on a cell where someone already stands.
  • If the game says "You can't open a shop on this map", move to Morroc or Payon.

Store Assistant (offline shop)

Use a voucher, pick a spot, and a copy of your character runs the shop there for 24 hours. You can keep playing the same character anywhere else in the meantime — any class can use it, no cart needed.

  • Selling: the zeny from every sale is sent to you by mail (RODEX). When the shop ends, anything unsold is mailed back.
  • Buying: you set a zeny budget, which is held up front. Items you buy arrive by mail, and the unspent zeny is mailed back when the shop ends.
  • Limits: each character can run one assistant shop, and each account at most one selling and one buying assistant (on different characters).
  • Shops stay open through server restarts. You can close yours early from its shop window.
  • If the spot isn't allowed, the voucher is not used up — just try another spot.
  • Rental items, unidentified or broken items and items that can't be traded can't be sold.

Getting vouchers

Normal shops

Vending (sell)

  • Merchant classes with a Pushcart use the Vending skill. Vending Lv 1 sells 3 kinds of items, +1 per skill level (up to 12).
  • The shop stays open only while you stay with it.

Buying Store (buy)

  • Learn Open Buying Store from Mr. Hugh at the Merchant Guild in Alberta for a one-time 10,000 z (needs Vending). He also sells the Bulk Buyer Shop License it uses up — 200 z each.
  • You need at least one of each item you want to buy in your inventory. Only common materials can be bought this way — not equipment.

Tax

Sales under 100,000,000 z are tax-free. A single sale of 100,000,000 z or more is taxed 5%.
